May 24 ; that day, in 1993, thus 14 years ago, this 2007mai24, André Cauchon, your daddy, died, at the corner of St-Jean (Qc, QC's main) and Richelieu, in front of The Hobbit café ; we were walking to his place, where he had invited me to crash, as bros do for eachother, when one gets into town, from elsewhere. He was one of the sweetest, cheerful hippy and daddy, I ever met; that's to say! Often in the St-Jean Baptiste Park, the ex-Cemetery, he'd continuously pick up any garbage he saw, dressed in his colorful, hippy outfits, and then put it away into a proper place... A sweet man ; not gay, that I know of, but assholes might have thought so, thus causing André's death; that's what another story says..

That night, we both hanged out at the Fourmi atomique, then, the cool bar in Qc; André, at the first floor, played pool all night ; I, in the basement, danced til closing time, thus 3h: of all people in the bar, I do know that we were the only two that neither had a drink, nor a sip of booze ; we visited eachother a few times. After 3, we went to the allnighter restaurant and after a light snack, we walked up St Jean street to his place ; within a block, two guys were following us, one of which was screaming insults and being aggressive directly towards us ; they were walking up to us with good speed; André seemed okay, and I felt somewhat agressed, but all seemed manageable, so far : then, suddenly and without warning, André started running as we approached Richelieu street and The Hobbit, but his legs were bending, with the knees lower at each step.

André got to the street corner pole and hanged from it with both hands, slowly melting towards the sidewalk; when he finally let go of the pole, he was in foetal position on his knees, face earthwards: I only had time to call André's name a couple of times, when the aggresive asshole got past André and in front of him, ordering him to get up; André is saying nothing, of course, and the, let's call him Marteau Débris, il se reconnaitra mais ne pourra me poursuivre, continues by asking André: "are you gonna get up, if I pull out a gun?", putting his hands to his back pocket, which André didn't and likely couldn't see, but which I sure did see: I jumped back into the Hobbit's door, only to realise it offered no protection against a bullet.

Then the guy, in front of André, who's in foetal position, looking down, swings his foot backwards and then kiks into André's head, touching him or not: I couldn't see from my angle; since he finally hadn't pulled a gun, I got out of the hobbit's door, rrreally rrraging, only to see a police car, parked only a few dozen feet from us: their ligths came on and they hurried to the incident and arrested Marteau right away, since they had seen him kik into André's head. Marteau had time to throw something into a dumpster; was it a gun, a knife, some dope: I don't think anything was found, nor that anyone really searched the dumpster: but maybe, I missed that part, since I was invited to the Cop Shop, as a witness of the incident, but André was just a poor hippy: Marteau's subsequent trial prooved it; what a parody!

I think I remember that one of the two cops, or maybe someone else who was going by, gave André artificial respiration and also pumped his heart; however, as we waited for the ambulance, there is a moment in time, when, oh so sadly, I saw André had left; indeed hospitals can do, and do, miracles, but they didn't that night: André was just a poor hippy. I forget how the cop introduced the subject, but I told him to shoot it out, plain: " your buddy's gone", « ton chum est parti », thus came out: my slight hopes thus faded to null. They kept me until the dic got to the station, by 7h or 8h, I forget. I described what hapenned and then went to the Youth Hostel, where I do know most of the staff: they thus gave me a bed for free, so that I may take some strength after that eventful night.

Then, a couple of days later, you, Samuel, and your mom, came to town from BC; I recall it was a Sunday; your mom insisted that I tell both of you exactly what happened; I had to chose my words, so that I would't hurt you, then such a young child; my eyes flow, as I write this line. As I spoke and you asked many questions, we sat down right on the sidewalk and your mom burned incence, after we hugged and wept; indeed the cops stopped their car, asked explanation, then left. This time, maybe to spare you, I retell you in English what happened to your daddy André Cauchon and I, that most sad night of 1993mai24; God bless you, if you ever read these lines, and also your mom and André: please, know that he's not forgotten!

This May 3, 2007, CBC acknowledges that a tenth case of Mad Cow was just uncovered in Canada, since the US Embargo in only 2003, and that yet another case was detected in April. In December 2006, I wrote this other @rticle, Mad Cows Sad Ox, in which I denounce the fact that the Dairy industry is feeding blood meal to vegetarian dairy cows. However, since I'm just an average DjO, my writings don't affect the world as much as those of Pamela, Paul, or Benedict. Even though the whole World could read this blog, it doesn't! This blog is almost as private as my inner thoughts.

Moreover, I assume that too many people think there's nothing wrong with feeding blood meal to vegetarian animals; I wonder if they'd understand better that you can't nourish a lion with lettuce heads, since lions are carnivorous, or that you can't feed gasoline to carrots, since carrots aren't mechanical, or that you can't give water to your cars, since they aren't vegetables... How will I succeed in spreading the NeWs that Mad Cow disease is a highly serious, degenerative disease, which takes four or five years to incubate in an affected cows, and at least that long or longer, in human beings? Feeding cows with blood meal will not cause problems tomorrow morning: it'll take years before problems appear, if they do.

In Japan, it's every single beef carcass that gets tested for Mad Cow disease; however, here, in Canada, only a few random samples are taken now and then; furthermore, since Canadian dairy cows don't have a very long life expectancy, even though they might be incubating the disease, there just may not be enough time for them to massively indicate that their brains are melting away. Nevertheless, us or our children might live long enough to eventually become affected... Could Alzeimer have any link with Mad Cow disease?

This @rticle suggests that "A Third Of US War Veterans Returning from Afghanistan and Iraq Have Mental Health Difficulties"; then, this other @rticle informs that the Pentagon finally admits that what's actually going on in Iraq could be called a civil war; 3558 U.S. soldiers have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the Washington Post, and yet another @rticle lets us know that the U.S. troop buildup in Iraq approaches 30,000.

A third of them will suffer from mental health problems, thus 10,000 + the 3558 dead ones. But imagine the poor people who live in Iraq; how many of them are going haywire, due to four years of War and civil war? And it's not because the Pentagon just started to admit the situation looks like civil war, that it just started; is it? Another worrisome detail is that it seems to me there hasn't been much Iraq NeWs on Google News for a week or two: the last time it happenned is when Fallujah was invaded and over 2000 Iraqui people died...

And that war started under falsehood, that is, the supposed Mass destruction weapons, which indeed were never found. Who will stop that mess? Not me, though I join my spirit and soul to the people in Washington, D.C. and other places, who protested against the Iraq War, this 2007mar16-17! I'm just another powerless citizen of the Planet that can only write a bit about it, hoping that maybe one day, Man will stop acting as if it were in a pandemonium.

Happy New Pig Year

Yes, today, 2007fev18, is the beginning of the Year of the Pig, which sometimes, is also called the Year of the Wild Boar, since being a pig is not necessarily as glamorous as being a horse, especially that ISLAM, and JUDAISM prohibit eating pork meat, an unclean animal, according to both religions. Personnally, even though I belong to neither of those religions, I didn't eat any pig meat in the last 18 years; in fact, I actually stopped eating pig meat and their derivates over 30 years ago, in 1974, and I assume that my body and soul thank me for that decision, especially that nowadays' pigs are boosted with hormones and are raised in most unnatural settings: I've even read that in some highly commercial farms, their piss is reintegrated into their drinking water, etc.

Nonetheless, according to an Ontario college teacher I knew around 1976, pigs are the most intelligent of animals, especially if they are raised in an environment that corresponds to their true nature, that being open fields, forest land, clean water and muddy spots, in which they can roll themselves in, so as to protect their skin from sun rays... It is a fact that pigs maybe taught all kinds of tricks, other than making piglets and bacon. Moreover, they are great for ploughing and fertilising a garden or a field... However, commercial animal farming doesn't bother respecting animals' true nature, for they are mostly motivated with profit: impeding a pig from running around too much makes them fat faster; but does it make them happy?

As for that tradition of Lunar years and dedicating a year on 12 to an animal, I like seeing as something else than "astrology"; I'd rather consider that it's a good idea to dedicate a whole year to an animal and that maybe during that year, humanity and governments should examine the conditions of that animal and improve it... But that is a truly utopic concept, I agree... There seemingly is another tradition related to the Chinese New Year: writing a haïku on the first day of the Lunar Year, would insure literary proficiency throughout the whole year: so, here we go...

EXPLANATION: People who are sensitive, poets, to pigs and piglets true natural needs, know that these love roaming about, but also that they could cause havoc in a garden, by eating or ploughing it at the wrong time of the year. Therefore, in the best of worlds, one must fence off its gardens, so as to keep the pigs out during the growing season and in, when it's ploughing time: pigs walk, roll and run but vegetables and trees don't...

Poor Pickton in Deep Pig Poop

I started off this "editori@l" as a (short) comment in this other Blog,

but since it got quite long, I chose to also publish it here; might as well!

These three sources, from the Vancouver Sun, Part I :: Part II :: Part III, are extracts of the transcript of Pickton's 11-hour long interrogatory by RCMP; the video of the "interview", as we all know, was shown in Court during the first week of the trial.

From part III:

"“All right. So my question is how many?” Adam said.
“I’d say two, probably two, maybe three,” Pickton said.
“Okay, so we’ve got Mona, obviously, right?” Adam asked.
“No. We’ve got nobody yet,” Pickton said."

Further on in the interview:

"“...I already told you how many’s in the trailer. Probably maybe up to as high as three in that, in [Even though the word "in", may be it really was "and" ?] the motorhome,” Pickton said.
“All right.”
“That was as far as we got,” Pickton said.
“Right.”
“Possibly,” Pickton added."

Although that may seem like an admission, maybe Picton is just feeding the cops what they want to hear? He's just been through ±10 hours of "interview"!

Those three @rticles above, are the most complete reports that I found on what happened during week one: indeed most NeWs sources only scrounge for the most gruesome details, making it a real problem to discover the real truth, which we'll likely never find out. For example, when an @rticle titles something like Pig Farmer Skinned Victims and Fed Them to Pigs, some, too many, readers will see it as a proven fact, when, in fact, it's the words of Lynn Ellingsen, who was also arrested in the case, a week BEFORE Pickton: she was right against the wall; maybe, she gave the cops something they wanted to hear, something that she could deal in exchange for immunity? Cops do that all the time; everybody knows it! Karla Homolka is one proof of that! Maybe even, Ellingsen skinned the victims herself and maybe she murdered them too!!

Would that kind of person hesitate to put responsability of her murders, if any, on the gullible Willie Pickton? Could that personage have had territorial interests in East Vancouver's Hooker Land, from which she could have wanted to eleminate competition?

Talking about lies, on Monday of week II, Adam, one of the RCMP interviewers admitted that he told to some lies during that "interview" with Pickton. As for Pickton bragging, while in jail, that he had killed 49 and planned a last one, so as to round it up to 50, we can suppose that it was yet another lie, intented to impress a double agent posing as a violent prisoner: since some types of criminals, as child abusers and rapists, have it hard in jail, since everybody knows that, even Pickton, and since the undercover cop is pretending to be accused of attempted murders, maybe Pickton played the mean, though murderer, but only trying to save, protect his own skin??

Another detail that is, let's say, "suspicious" is that the, now famous heads, which were discovered in buckets, were actually found SIX MONTHS AFTER Pickton had been put into jail! Who put those heads in Picton's freezer? How come it took six months to discover them, when dozens of cops had already been searching the farm?

Was Pickton set up by the very murderers and by the cops? That wouldn't be the first time: Quebec city's Marsall case is just one example ot that kind of reality. 70 millions $$ were spent on the investigation: the cops had been accused of doing nothing to solve the problem of disappearing hookers in East Vancouver; so, they put all the cases on one person, trial him on the only six cases, on which they really have some kind of proof, though none that Pickton committed the murders himself, and say that they intend to judge him on 20 more cases, but later...

Then, they find Pickton guilty on those six counts, they send him with the carceral population, an "accident" happens to Pickton, the second trial never occurs, but the RCMP can say: "we solved the problem of the missing ladies; Pickton was the murderer, but, unfortunately, we didn't have time to judge him in all cases, but we did have all the prooves to do so", and they thus save their honor!?

Darn Cheap Cancer Crushing Aid DCA

DCA, dichloroacetate, the drug, is a cheap, unpatented substance already used to heal MELAS. Evangelos Michelakis of the University of Alberta in Edmonton has recentely tested that DCA destroys cancer cells, right from within the cancerous cells... DCA's already used to heal, is cheap and isn't under patent, so there ain't no monopoly profit to be made from it: that's why Pharmaceutical Drug Lords, or should I say Pigs or, Vultures, aren't intere$ted in funding Research on DCA. You or anybody may!

Further Good News: le malheur des uns fait le bonheur des autres. Drug Vulture Pigs don't make any bacon, neither from exploiting DCA, nor cancer-striken people anymore; even better, cancer patients get cheap treatment, a saving for all. So far, DCA has shown effective at healing three types of tumors: lung, brain and breast cancers, both within human cells and within rats and mice. On top ot that, since DCA is water-soluble, it may simply be mixed with water and smoothly drank and thus effectively reach the brain and all, right from within. Although you should beware that DCA is an acid that at highly concentrated dosage might cause pain, numbness and gait disturbances, you most importantely should remember that, at the appropriate dosage, DCA already does heal MELAS; it just hasn't yet been tested on humans, specifically within cancer healing.

L'article numérisé, ci-haut, nous informe que le 2006oct31, Purina a distribué 400 tonnes de farine de SANG, dans une centaine, 133, de ferme laitières, à ±3000 vaches, soit, en moyenne, quatre tonnes par ferme, et 266.666 livres par vache ; c'est énorme ! Et chemin faisant, ils pourraient les avoir contaminées dans des wagons ayant contenu des « ingrédients » pouvant causer la maladie, dite, de « la VACHE FOLLE ». En fait, l'article de Le Devoir présente le problème comme étant cette contamination, et non pas qu'il y aurait une quelconque problématique naturaliste, zoologique, éthique, sociale, neurologique, logique, ou kinesthésique, dans le fait de nourrir avec du sang des ruminants végétariens , les vaches, qui fournissent en lait « le peuple et ses enfants » !!

On dirait qu'on complote, sans coeur et myope, en nourrissant méthodiquement des vaches, ruminants végétariens, avec des ingrédients contre-nature, du sang, parce qu'à court terme, les vaches produisent plus de lait, ce qui est plus profitable, €conom¥quemen$ parlant. Sauf qu'on reproduit exactement les techniques d'agriculture, américaine et britannique, du début des années 80, qui, en quelques années, ont rapidement causé l'encéphalopathie spongiforme bovine dans les cheptels ; le même élément chimique, des trois, fondamentaux en agriculture, est contenu dans la farine de sang : l'azote. Ce que l'on s'était mis à nourrir les vaches laitières, il y a ± 25 ans, c'était de la farine de poisson, riche en azote, alors qu'aujourd'hui, en Australie, en UK et aux US, c'est précisément à ces seuls poissons, qu'on doit nourrir la farine de sang. Plusieurs espèces de poissons sont carnivores ; les vaches, non !

OUI : LES .US, .UK, .AU ont tous interdits la farine de sang dans les rations accordées aux vaches laitières et autres ruminants : chèvres, chameaux, "cattle, sheep, goats, deer, buffalo, camels and camelids", etc. Le CANADA, lui, en interdit l'importation des pays qui ne sont pas officiellement reconnus comme étant libre de l'encéphalopathie spongiforme bovine ; néanmoins, ici, on continue de permettre d'écouler dans les rations pour les vaches laitières, des surplus de farine de sang possiblement, probablement créés par l'interdiction récente,.aux USA, en 2004, et en UE, en vigueur depuis le 2006mai03.

suite à mon commentaire, également ci-après celui-ci, dans ce blogue-ci. :-)

Mon commentaire précédent n'est que mon opinion ; il est fort possible que je sois complètement dans le champ et que mon scepticisme soit un jour confondu : ce sera alors tant mieux pour les éventuels bénéficiaires de ce « noble » projet. Par ailleurs, je suis tout à fait au courant que sous l'interface convivial de mon PC, Windows 98, il y a un paquet d'encodage technique que je ne connais pas, ou si peu, et que pour réaliser un tel projet d'ordinateur à « $100, $1000, ou $5000 », ou encore n'importe quel autre projet, ça prend souvent des « geeks », ou autres types de spécialistes, pour fignoler, designer, redesigner, trouver La solution pour résoudre tel ou tel problème, mais que cette solution crée un autre problème, et que tout cela peut souvent être long, complexe et méticuleux...

Sauf que ce que j'essaie de dire c'est que ce type de problème technique ne devrait pas être relayé à l'élève Nigérien en train d'apprendre à écrire avec son ordinateur à $100 et que je n'oublierai jamais la mise de fonds que mon père avait durement gagné et que ma mère avait mis sur un microscope, dans un magasin X, qui est tombé en faillite peu de temps après, il y a une quarantaine d'années : nous n'avons jamais revu cette mise de fonds, ni d'ailleurs, le microscope. Sauf que cette mise de fonds, n'était pas entre un demi milliard et un milliard et demi de US $$ !!

On peut commenter, dans le blogue où j'ai laissé mon commentaire précédent, que j'écris n'importe quoi, parce que ne veux pas avaler tout rond le rêve d'un ex-professeur universitaire, mais j'aime mieux exercer mon esprit critique que de croire tout ce qu'on me dit, même si ça vient d'une source apparamment crédible ; ça fait partie de ce qu'une professeure m'a appris durant ma maîtrise.

D'ailleurs, je ne fais pas de procès d'intention à l'instigateur de ce projet, mais j'ai bel et bien constater dans ses écrits que c'est un grand rêveur, ce qui peut indéniablement être une grande qualité !

On croirait que ces chiffres commandent une sérieuse entreprise, mais dans la p@ge perso de Nicholas Negroponte, un des liens offerts est "Collaborators" ; on s'attendrait à une liste impressionante de savants érudits, mais non ! Voyez vous-mêmes dans la dite page Web : on y voit un chien, du genre bulldog ; quel humour on peut se permettre quand on se fait vaguement avancer entre un demi milliard et un milliard et demi de US $ $ ! !

Par ailleurs, une recherche WHOIS, chez http://allwhois.com, nous informe que www.laptop.org existe depuis mars 2002, soit bientôt cinq ans ; c'est sûr que ça doit être long ramasser entre un demi et un milliards et demi de dollars !!

Par contre, d'une part, cet @rticle du 2005dec15, nous « informe » que le projet a été annoncé pour la première fois, en Suisse, au début de 2005, tiens donc, et d'autre part, que Taiwan's Quanta Computer Inc a gagné le contrat pour fabriquer ces présumés ordinnes, dans le dernier quart de 2006, mais qu'il reste quelques détails techniques à régler, du genre plutôt GEEK. Mais heureusement qu'on aura qu'à « crinquer » cet ordinne, afin de générer la puissance opérationnelle nécessaire !!

Personnellement, je ne crois plus au Père Noël depuis quelques années, et je n'ai jamais cru à ce projet ! Qui plus est, qui peut vérifier que le Père Noël a bien livré ses cadeaux à tous les enfants du monde, ou encore que de cinq à quinze millions d'ordinnes à $100 ont été distribués dans ces pays lointains ?

Erreur Web frequente

Au pif, je dirais que l'erreur la plus fréquente que je rencontre sur le Web, ce sont ces im@ges qui sont paramétrées petites dans la p@ge, alors qu'elles sont aspirées d'une source parfois ÉNORME. Je ne sais trop avec les autres fureteurs, comment ça se passe, mais avec Netscape Navigator (7.2), ça se « sent » tout de suite : tout devient au ralenti et saccadé, même avec une connection haute vitesse ; je vous épargne les détails ; avec une connection basse vitesse, tout doit « geler ».

On dirait, et les calculs suivants le confirment, que NN-7 force, se démène, afin d'entrer plusieurs pixels là où il ne devrait qu'y en avoir qu'un seul ; par exemple, dans cette seule et unique p@ge Web, où je ne vous recommande pas d'@ller tant qu'ils n'auront pas résolu le problème, se trouvent :

Une im@ge-source d'une largeur de 2592px, d'une hauteur de 1944px, et d'un poids de 1279.99 KB
codée à une hauteur de "211px", et une largeur de "282px"
5,038,848 px doivent donc entrer dans un espace défini à 59,502px,
ce qui signifie qu'on force ±85px dans l'espace d'un seul pixel ! C'est beaucoup (trop) !!

Une deuxième im@ge-source 2592px ; 1944px ; 1342.29 KB
codée à une hauteur de "209", et une largeur de 281px".
± le même calcul qu'au § précédent s'applique !

Une troisième im@ge d'une largeur de 344 px, d'une hauteur de 336 px, et d'un poids de 52.36 KB,

Donc, au total, outre les autres petites im@ges icones et cie, cette p@ge contient 2674 KB,
soit, si on divise par un généreux 55 KB idéal, une p@ge ± 50 x trop pes@nte !!

Par ailleurs, je note qu'à cette même école, sur 59 enseignants ou membres du personnel, selon la liste dans cette p@ge Web, il n'y en a que deux qui ont une p@ge ou un site Web, dont la p@ge que je viens d'analyser... Par ailleurs, l'autre site Web, à mon humble avis, aurait aussi quelques conseils constructifs à recevoir ! Néanmoins, le site Web de l'école et quelques élèves de l'école sauvent la mise... À suivre....

Favoriser la creation d images mediatiques

Vu qu'en Arts plastiques, dans le cadre du Renouveau pédagogique, favoriser la création d'im@ges médiatiques est une des trois compétences au menu du premier cycle du secondaire, dans « ta demarche d'une im@ge qui prendrait moins d'espace », tu pourrais possiblement demander de l'aide à ton, ta, prof(e) d'arts plastiques ; probablement aussi que parmi les autres élèves du PEI, il y a des « experts du Web » qui pourraient t'aider ?

Néanmoins, "Zhaxia", un de tes buts est de nous faire voir que tu as utilisé des lignes droites, même si tes im@ges ont des formes arrondies ; c'est clair que dans l'image #02 que j'ai réduite hier, je n'ai pas atteint ce but, mais j'ai cependant réussi à réduire ton dessin pour qu'on puisse la voir d'un seul bloc, dans un popup.

Pour ceux qui ont une résolution d'écran de 800 x 600 px et un moniteur de 17", la largeur maximale d'une im@ge présentée en popup est de moins de 800 px, alors que sa hauteur maximale est de 525 px ; je ne connais pas les dimensions pour les autres résolution et moniteurs.

Prenons ton im@ge #04, la pomme, vu qu'on y voit bien tes lignes droites et que c'est ce que tu veux démontrer. La première étape pour la réduire, sans en affecter la « visibilité », serait d'enlever le blanc superflu en haut, à gauche et en dessous du dessin : pour ce faire, vu que j'ai un PC et travaille avec le basique Paint, dans Edition, je sélectionnerais tout ; ensuite, pour enlever le blanc superflu, en haut et à gauche du dessin, je cliquerais l'image et maintiendrais le bouton de souris enfoncé, pour « saisir l'image » que j'amènerais alors aussi près que possible du haut et du coté gauche de la fenêtre Paint ; ensuite, je « déssaisirais l'image » et, avec les « ancres », situées dans les coins et au milieu des cotés de la fenêtre Paint, je rapprocherais le bas et le coté droit du fond blanc, aussi près que possible de l'image... Pour ta version plus grande, le résultat serait adéquat.

Par ailleurs, pour créer une version pour ceux qui ont une résolution d'écran de 800 x 600 px et un moniteur de 17", tu calcules la hauteur du dessin, dont tu as enlevé le blanc superflu, puis, tu calcules le pourcentage de réduction à effectuer, pour arriver à une hauteur de 525px, ou encore, « tu y vas au pif » : en effet, dans Paint, dans le menu Édition, on peut « reculer » trois fois. Parallèlement, je le répète, pour qu'on puisse voir une im@ge d'un seul bloc, dans un popup, cette im@ge ne devrait pas dépasser 800 px de largeur. Dans le cas de « la pomme », je suppose qu'on ne perdrait pas tes lignes droites, même après l'avoir réduite, mais il n'y a qu'une seule façon de le savoir ; n'est-ce pas ?

Bien sûr qu'au lieu de me lancer dans cette explication écrite, j'aurais pu réduire ta pomme et te la publier sur le Web ; par contre, si tu veux acquérir ce « savoir-faire », cette « compétence procédurale », il n'y a rien comme « forger pour devenir forgeron »... Je suis convaincu que si tu trouves et prends le temps de traiter tes cinq dessins, tu te rapprocheras grandement de l'acquistion de ce savoir-faire...

I saw your skilful art and that you created links from thumbs, so that us, visitors, may acknowledge that your drawings are actually drawn with straight lines, even though the end product does offer curves.

However, since your bigger im@ges are much too wide for my computer screen and my 600 x 800 px resolution, and since I thought it'd be nice to see your drawings as a whole, and also, since your 218 KB im@ge is a little bit heavy for people who might visit your blog with a dial up connection, I took upon myself to create the popup you'll get to, if you click the small thumb on the left. For your information and anyone else's, here's the code I used.

Moreover, I took off the superfluous white space all around your art picture and also greatly reduced it in size, so as to create a fairly light 44 KB im@ge that can be seen as a whole. Hoping all that may be useful, I send youz farewells!

This morning, I c@me about yet another interesting "@rticle" from François Guité, in his blog : 77 conseils pour faciliter l’apprentissage.

Within that @rticle, François built and sh@red a mind map, which summarizes 48 pieces of advice to facilitate learning. Since he acknowledged that his conceptual gr@ph is too wide and high for most computers, I therefore took upon myself to solve the problem, by buiding a Web p@ge that may be turned into a popup; I also created a 8½ x 11" Word file, because personnaly, I coudln't have printed his 11 x 17" PDF, and I suppose it's the case of many others.

Socioconstructivist Problem Solving

Even though I have a Master's degree in Educational Technology, I have neither a DEC, BAC, nor Master's in Computer Science: therefore, sometimes, I realise that I just don't know simple, basic knowledge related to my computer.

Voici le problème : dans la c@pture d'écran ci-haut, il est indiqué
que mon disque local utilisait alors, il y a plusieurs mois,

2,29 Go et que 1,70 Go était libre.

Aujourd'hui, 2006nov30, 252 jours + tard, mon disque local

utilise (seulement) 291 Mo et 3,72 Go sont libres.

Par contre, je sais que si je défragmente mon disque,

l'espace libre retombera probablement à autour de 0,80 Go

Quelqu'un pourrait-il, elle, m'expliquer, simplement, pourquoi défragmenter bouffe tant d'espace sur mon disque ?
Quelqu'un pourrait-il, elle, m'indiquer si, à son avis, il est mieux d'avoir plus d'espace libre et de ne pas défragmenter, ou, si c'est mieux de défragmenter et d'avoir conséquemment moins d'espace libre ?

p.s.: the "image uploading button", , ~~DIDN'T~~ workS with Netscape Navigator 7.2. I actually uploaded the above image while @ccessing my blog through Internet Explorer; ~~I guess that I should notify this system's "workers"...~~

Let's write a little English, on this foggy Movday: yes, I wrote Movday, not Monday! Why? Because, I found a link between colors, in their chromatic order, and between the days of the week. It's more of a poetical, linguistic link than a scientific one, though "chromatics" IS a science.

Nevertheless, on this Movday, earlier on, I performed my 12-13 km walking, running, stretching and 108 push-ups spree. I train on the "Plaines d'Abraham" at the "summer skates" (roller skates) ring.

So, this morning, it took me two and a half hours from home and back, and to walk nine turns around the ring; except at my first turn, I run during the other eight turns, and that, at least, between the two white lines, on the right of the above gr@ph. That means that I run at least two kilometers. Moreover, after each of the nine turns, I do 12 push-ups, before and after which, I stretch my arms plentifully, so as to not "burn" them up: that is to say that altogether I do 108 push-ups; soon, I will increase to 13 push-ups, and further on...

As usual, this morning, at each of the nine turns, I meditate upon one of the nine intelligences, and that, in the "logical" order I gave them; recentely, at the linguistic intelligence's turn, I got into mentally composing a Haïku poem, sometimes in the three languages I speak. This morning, however, I stayed within French... Here's what I remember :

J'estime que le Renouveau pédagogique du Programme de formation de l'école québécoise suit son cours : ainsi, de ma métaphore graphique le comparant à un avion, au début de cette discussion, aujourd'hui, je le comparerai à un train, en route sur des rails qui se « renouvellent » sans cesse, comme le laisse sous-entendre le titre anglais (du mautadzine) de document : Monitoring the Education Reform

2. Exploitons l'information

Pour ma part, « je crois » en l'enseignement stratégique, à l'enseignement magistral et explicite, aux travaux d'équipes, au travail individuel, aux débats, aux « activités Jig Saw », à la responsabilisation des apprenants dans leurs apprentissages, aux activités coopératives, au socio-constructivisme, aux pairs aidants, à la méthode communicative, à l'écriture Web, aux projets, et que travailler fort peut s'unir à être passionné pour ce qu'on apprend, et que ce qu'on apprend peut-être utile, intéressant, et motivant pour les apprenants-constructeurs eux-mêmes et pour tous...

3. Résolvons des problèmes

Par contre, je crois aussi que si, par exemple, on ne faisait que des débats à l'année (scolaire), les élèves finiraient par s'ennuyer. Parallèlement, je crois qu'une activité super réussie avec un groupe peut être un désastre avec un autre, ou encore, que le succès du cours du lundi matin peut devenir une catastrophe, le vendredi après-midi, bref, qu'il n'y a pas de recette absolue et parfaite et que le métier d'enseignant est un acte problème vraiment fort complexe...

4. Exerçons notre jugement critique

Par ailleurs, il m'apparaît qu'il faudrait évaluer non seulement les maintenant fameuses « compétences transversales », mais aussi les compétences disciplinaires telles quelles, par exemple, en anglais, langue seconde, pour faire simple, la compréhension et la production orale, ainsi que la lecture et l'écriture... Par contre, il faudrait que les érudits anti-réforme cessent de brandir les « compétences transversales et le socio-constructivisme », comme s'ils étaient des concepts inexplicables, nébuleux, tout à fait inconpréhensibles, et appartenant à une dimension parallèle invisible, en latin, ou chinois, c'est selon.

5. Coopérons

Ziboulon Pimpon, les Amish, qui ont pourtant un système scolaire de seulement huit ans, sont un excellent exemple concret de socio-constructivisme appliqué ; pour ce qui est des compétences transversales, il y en a neuf, tout comme les neuf muses, les neuf intelligences de Gardner et les neuf types d'ondes électromagnétiques, et nous avons dix doigts qui coopèrent ensemble : rien de sorcier ! Les neuf titres de cet « @rticle » sont ces compétences.

6. Donnons-nous des méthodes de travail efficaces

Quant au non-redoublement, quoique je sois contre, parce que le pauvre élève risque de ne plus saisir « la suite », il me semblerait néanmoins tout aussi dramatique qu'un(e) élève de 14 ans soit encore au primaire et non pas avec son groupe d'âge. Le train du Renouveau roule vers le futur et j'y rajouterais ces suggestions : des wagons avec un maximun de 24 étudiants et, pour en revenir aux Amish, que chaque enseignant ait son aide attitré à temps plein.

Comme locomotive pour notre train, voici une suggestion grandiose : j'ai constaté que les cours intensifs de langues, de cinq ou six semaines, que j'ai pris trois étés, ont des résultats positivement surprenants, même chez les débutants ; or donc, tous les enseignants, sur le point de devoir appliquer le Renouveau, pourraient prendre un genre de cours estival de cinq ou six semaines et réfléchir ensemble sur l'application du Renouveau pédagogique. Bein quoi ? Il faut bien la mettre en oeuvre, notre pensée créatrice, si on veut l'actualiser notre potentiel....

9. Exploitons les TIC
Pourquoi ne pas faire lire à nos élèves ce « document politique » bilingue ? Nous pourrions ensuite en débattre en groupe classe ou en équipe ; nos élèves pourraient exercer leur esprit critique et faire une dissertation, afin de savoir ce qu'ils en pensent, eux, de cette réforme renouvelée, en renouvellement... Finalement, elles, ils pourraient publier leurs dissertations analytiques sur le Web, dans leurs blogues, puis interagir et se corriger et se critiquer les uns les autres. Les enseignants pourrions les suivre avec nos agrégateurs, etc.
